Svetlana Boiko is a multidisciplinary artist from Saint Petersburg. She is a professional portraitist, book illustrator and web designer. She also designs different packages and luxury real silk and cashmere shawls. She finds inspiration in Russian mysticism, stories from around the world and in nature that surrounds us.

Between 1991 and 1995 she studied at the Art College of Irkutsk, where she earned a red diploma in graphic design. Then she was a student of The Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design, department of easel and book graphics between 1995 and 2003. Her specialization is the art of the book.

In 2003 she was the winner in the graphics category of a competition held by the Russian Academy of Sciences, Saint Petersburg. In 2004 she had been admitted to the graphic department of the National Union of Artists of Russia. In 2007 she was between the finalists of the All-Russian competition of book graphics entitled ’Artists of the cherished dream’, Moscow. In that same year she took part in a memorial design contest with the aim of commemorate people who were killed in the Anapa-Petersburg plane crash. She took the first place. In 2016 she took the second place in the All-Russian contest of packaging design for perfumes in Moscow.

2018 proved to be a very busy and successful year for Svetlana. She earned the second place in the All- Russian Botanical Illustration Competition held in Moscow. After that, still in the aforementioned city, the Darwin Museum held the All-Russian competition of paleontological illustration, where she won the first place.

In London she received the People’s Choice Award at the international illustration competition BIC. She chose The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes to illustrate. We are honoured that Svetlana gave her permission to show her fantastic artwork on our site. Thank you very much!
